I think Coldplay may be a bit depressing, but geez.. I wouldn't say it was seriously horribly depressing. It's just more subdued. I think songs that are a little more melancholy are great, as long as theres an idea that something better is out there, or there's a strength that's conveyed in some way. Giving up is depressing. This wasn't really my point although it is true with a lot of people, especially women. When I use to fall in love with was based on sound reasoning. For instance, I could say why I wouldn't like blondes for a sound reaon, thy tend to get higher rates of skin cancer, wrinkles, and osteporosis. Another reason I like young girls is because they're more fertile, etc. The reason I like good looking girls because it's been shown scientifically they have less genetic defects and have healthier offspring etc, etc. But I dont agree with you that having a preference even if you don't have a good reason for it makes it unsound. Okay, well, that's a different ball of wax for me than "Lacks empathy." That's more like "Has trouble channelling his emotions in a positive way."
